The design of calendar of Homer in 2021 is around the theme of 12 hand-painted illustrations of animals, including anteaters, horses, pangolin, crocodiles, elks, magpies, cheetahs, lions, snakes, eagles, cattle and bats. The illustration style brings in linear and geometric elements to engender visual contrast with different density of patterns. The unique distorted perspective of the illustrator not only gives the 12 pictures a special style, but also allows the opuses to be cut into the corners of the paper perfectly, making the design of each month more systematic. In paper and typesetting, the minimalist style is adopted to focus the viewer's attention on illustration and printing process. On the display of technology, the logo and 12 illustrations are displayed on the cover with embossing and screen printing. On the inner page, different grain details in animal pictures are selected and reinterpreted in the way of hot stamping. Different textures of gold foil are used to produce different stereo effect. In terms of structure, Homer focuses on environment-friendly materials and space saving, selects FSC paperboard as the main material, take full advantage of tenon designing to reduce the space of product, and combines the manual with the outer packaging to reduce unnecessary waste.
